Anyone feel the need to be MOD?
Sun Apr 18, 2010 6:14 pm by meanwood_monks
Been thinking about this for a while now.

Some of you guys/gals have been here since day 1. Cheers for all your support over this time.
Was wondering if anyone was wanting to keep an eye on things and have MOD rights here.

Hello Smile

Back on the scene again, Well what can i say about Carleton Lodge apart from it was amazing and full of surprises this house is amazing and its a real shame to see it in such a state of despair when its clearly salvageable, After many ( Honestly Many ) attempts to get into this place we finally succeeded harder than it sounds because the lodge has been split in half with next door currently still being occupied.

I couldn't find much history on this place which is really disappointing i did however find out that the lodge used to belong the the chief constable of west riding Smile classy guy and that also during the war the building had a gas mask testing facility on the grounds, Children were used to test the masks.

It's still really big with many original features which is nice.
The side we could access was the bigger side of the split and it had around 7 bedrooms the bedroom with the vaulted ceiling above ( the green room ) is so huge you wouldn't believe it its unreal this was probably my favorite room in the house as it had a fairytale atmosphere the house has been left to allow the ivy to creep over two of the windows in this room which also looks awesome.

Overall this was a good explore and I'm glad we finally managed to get in lol
hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

P.S sorry the pictures aren't that great i was trying to be as quiet as possible and get in and out.

Emma & Jason.

One for you TC we know you like your chairs Wink

Glad to see you're back on the scene-with a good find too! Interesting looking building with lots of original features. That 'servants signalling thing' (i'm sure it's got a proper name!) looks good! Very Happy

Lovely building. I'm sure with the right injection of cash it'd make a lovely home. I love the original features and high ceilings.

This place really is a grand ol'house. Having a poke through some of the old paper work etc left behind, it looks as if the previous occupants went bankrupt. Im sure this place will be renovated in time.
The "signal" box was cool, more though was the master bedroom upstairs, was HUGE. Buzzin
